This Week We Pray For: Muslims In The West

It is estimated that there are about 40 million Muslims in the Western hemisphere. Their growth in Europe is very rapid, largely due to immigration and the influx of refugees. Numerically, Islam is the second largest religion in France and possibly England. Large concentrations of Muslims are also found in Germany, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, and what was once united Yugoslavia.

In the United States and Canada, Islam has grown because of immigration and refugees. There have also been very aggressive efforts to propogate Islam, especially among prison inmates. An appeal based strongly on racial issues has been made to African Americans. There are large numbers of Muslim immigrants in Latin America.

Prayer
I pray that You will waken the Church in the West to heed Your voice and seek the lost. May she become aware of her responsibility to reach out with Your message of love to Muslims at her doorstep.

I pray against the lies used by the propagators of Islam to spread their religion among African Americans. I pray for Muslims in Europe and the Americas. May their hearts be softened and may they accept the Gospel. Make them missionaries of the cross, O God, equipped to go out and bring many fellow Muslims to the Kingdom.
