This Week We Pray For: Muslims In East Asia

The following East Asian countries contain a sizable Muslim population: Indonesia, China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Singapore.

Indonesia has the largest Muslim population of any country in the world. There are more than 140 million Muslims in that nation. China has at least 30 million Muslims. Although Malaysia is no more than 53 percent Muslim, its constitution states that it is a Muslim country and Muslims are called the children of the land. Their privileges exceed those of their non-Muslim compatriots. Islam is a minority religion in the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, yet its presence is very significant. Brunei is 100 percent Muslim.

Prayer
Father in Heaven, many Muslims live in this vast region. Please penetrate their hard hearts with Your powerful Word. O Sovereign God, You alone are Almighty. Only a few years ago, You moved upon Muslims in Indonesia with results beyond our wildest dreams. Stretch out Your mighty arm again and work signs, wonders, and miraculous acts that will cause Muslims in this region to acknowledge Jesus Christ as the only sovereign Savior and mighty Lord. O Spirit of the living God, move upon the poor and the rich, upon the beggars and bankers, upon those steeped in their religion and the irreligious.

Thank You for so many who have found You as Savior and Lord in Indonesia. May many of them be called to go to other countries as missionaries of the "True and Living Way."

I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me (Acts 26:1718).
